Snow Day.....s!

We decided Saturday afternoon that we better go to the deer camp and get the four-wheeler with all the talk of snow coming on Sunday! So Roy, Rylee and I loaded up and headed out. Rylee loved helping her daddy get the four-wheeler loaded up on the truck......

and looking at the cows and horses.....she even got a little brave and wanted to pet one of the horses......her momma stayed in the truck!

On Sunday morning, we went to Sunday School and anticipated leaving after Sunday School because we were a little nervous about the weather. (South Arkansas isn't used to snow and icy roads!) God had other plans when the people scheduled to keep Extended SEssion during church didn't show up.....so we stayed with the 8 kiddos who were there patiently awaiting their parents' return from church! During church, we went out to the door to check the weather and the kids were THRILLED to see the snow falling at quite a rapid pace! Below are Banks Ray, Rylee, Wesley Jungerman and Mercy Hagler.

After getting home and getting a much needed nap, we went out to play.......and of course, we had to make snow ice cream!
......and made a snowman.......

......and we played some more.........

.......and rode the 4-wheeler.........

.....and watched the birds.........

......and warmed by the fire........

......and we can't wait to have more snow to do it all over again!!!!!!

Bye, Bye, FieFie!

Rylee Grace decided on a Wednesday night, after Christmas, that she would sleep without her passy, or "Fie Fie" as she affectionately called it. I didn't ask her about it and she slept through the night without asking for it. Thursday night, same story! Friday, I mentioned to her that I was so proud of her for being such a big girl and if she would keep sleeping without it, we would go Monday to get some ice cream! Sure enough.....Monday rolls around and still no Fie Fie! So we loaded up and went to Sonic for a tasty treat!

She was so excited and I'm so proud of her and sad at the same time! This is a milestone that means Miss Rylee is growing up. There is something sweet about watching her suck on her passy when she's so tired.....it makes me realize that my sweet baby is not a baby anymore! But then....it's time to move on!

Woo Pig Sooie!

Today, our Arkansas Razorbacks are playing in New Orleans in the Sugar Bowl! This is a much anticipated game for our household! Since we couldn't go to New Orleans (this year....there WILL be a day), we decided to bring a little New Orleans to our house! Ummmmm ummmm good gumbo! Hopefully the Hogs will win and I can post tomorrow that it was a wonderful night in the Backus household!
