Saturday with Sissy

Saturday, we started out early to Hope to watch Zach play All Star Baseball.  He had played the night before and lost, but we were not able to go because of swimming lessons that we had already scheduled prior to scheduling baseball tournaments.  The game started at 10:00.  Luckily it was very cloudy and pretty breezy - a nice morning for a little baseball.  Unfortunately, the ballgame did not go in his favor.  They lost their second game, and were out of the tournament.  Zach played really well, though, and has really improved since last year!

In the top picture, you can see the teams lined up receiving their medals.  The 2nd picture, immediately above, is zoomed in on #5, who would rather receive the top place trophy!  Maybe next year!

We ate lunch and ran by the lumber yard to pick up some plywood that I needed for a project at school.  (More on that in another post).  Then we headed home.  Brittany had told Rylee that she would come swim with her that afternoon, so we all headed home and Rylee started asking when "Sissy" was coming.  I told her to give it a little while and she would call.  Well, by 3:00, Miss Rylee had waited as long as she could and she just had to call!

Rylee and I met Brittany at the Country Club and she came home with us, while Zach swam with a friend.  Rylee and Roy were in Heaven on Earth, and I was too, because what makes them happy makes me happy!

We swam, grilled burgers, Brittany practiced her driving skills with her daddy, and we swam some more!  The only problem was that Rylee told me that she didn't want me coming outside with them becuase I would talk to her Sissy too much.  In other words, I was taking her time away from her Sissy Time!  So I stayed inside and let Roy, Rylee and Brittany swim.  They had a ball.  Brittany did lots of cheer stunts with Rylee, and Rylee loved every minute of it!

Roy wanted an updated picture with "his girls" before we had to take Brittany home.  She stayed till about 9:00 and then we ran her home.
Miss Rylee had such a good time!  .............playing with Sissy is very tiring!

Zach helps in the Garden

Roy borrowed the neighbor's "thing" (I don't know what it's called) to help till up his garden. HOWEVER - it would not go down in the dirt enough to till it up. SOLUTION: Zach Backus! Zach sat on it and it turned out to be a fun ride for him!

Little Rock Zoo

We made a trip to the Little Rock Zoo last month - on free day, none the less. We will not do THAT again! I've been to lots of Razorback games and I've NEVER seen so many cars lined up on the interstate waiting to get into the Zoo! It was insane, but the kids had a good time. I guess that's what matters.

Another day at Pop's Farm

We (the girls) rode out to Pop's farm while the boys were adding deer corn to Roy's feeder. We let the kids piddle around at the creek. Rylee just wanted to get IN the water - you can see the expression on her face!

H4H!!!!

No - it's not a type-0 - it's what you'll hear Brittany, Zach and Lindsey (neighbor girl) yelling if you walk up to their new "fort" in the woods.......AKA: Head For Hut! They have worked the past few days with Roy to clear out a path in the woods. They moved an old dog pen in as their "fort" along with an old Fisher Price Tool Bench that they use for their counter and some lawn chairs. They even have a port-a-potty (only in Arkansas), and Christmas decorations! Yesterday, Zach comes running in and advertising that the blue bucket (port-a-potty) is gone and someone has been scratching in the dirt. Lo and behold - Roy looks up and the neighbor kids have gotten the bucket and it was under their carport. Roy backs up in their driveway and reclaims his blue bucket. WOO HOO!....Port-a-potty saved! Zach suggests that they will put a snicker bar in it so that the next time the neighbor boy thinks he wants their bucket, he'll think there's a poopy surprise inside and he'll leave it alone. Only Zach.......

Zach and Lindsey in their "hut"........

The disassembled, reclaimed port-a-potty - the chair was actually sitting on the bucket pre-stolen time.......

Before and After

Before the pool was ready for summer.......
And AFTER, thank goodness!!!!

Seseme Street

After I fed Rylee her breakfast yesterday, I scooted her highchair over in front of the TV and turned on Seseme Street. SHE LOVED IT! She would squeal and Zach finally woke up, well kinda, and came up front to watch with her.

NO!!!!!! Those aren't weeds, they're my BEANS.......

..........Zach yells at me yesterday just as I'm getting ready to pull the "weeds" from my flower pots. Roy just shook his head. Zach has about 3 city lots to plant beans, but the need struck to plant them in my flower pots! LOL

It's been a while!

It's been a week or so since my last post.....I've heard grumblings from certain people about it! We've been having fun! Last week was Spring Break and Brittany and Zach spent the week with us. Roy's transmission went out in his truck so he spent the week at home with Brittany and Zach with nowhere to go, except to the shop! :) He finally gave in on Thursday and bought another truck. We traded my car for a truck and a trailblazer (with 3 rows of seats, praise the Lord)! After traveling to the jonquil festival with 2 kids in one seat belt, we decided we needed more seating in a vehicle! We are enjoying both, but we'll be eating bologna sandwiches for the next three years! Don't know if it'll be worth it, or not! But you never know till you just suck it up and do it!

Brittany and Rylee enjoyed playing in the floor for most of the week........

Sweet kiddos! Rylee loves when Brittany and Zach are with us!

Rylee Grace got to meet Malley this week. At first, Rylee was real excited, but then......

Malley got a little too close for comfort! :)

When your dad's a coach, you have to practice more than most kids and you have to get closer to perfection than most kids.......poor Zach. But - he loves him some baseball!

"Pre-Easter" Easter Egg Hunt

We had a "Pre-Easter" Easter Egg Hunt yesterday at Momo Frances's house. I hid eggs for Chloe, Brittany and Zach. Zach was pretty excited that he found the most eggs. Chloe was pretty upset that Zach found the most eggs! HA! (You can see the disgust in her face as she looks once again at her number of eggs in the top picture with all three kids).

Chloe forcing herself to be still for a picture! Precious!

The Jonquil Festival

Brittany, Zach and Kaycee under the HUGE magnolia tree at Old Washington.
Brittany, Zach and Roy upstairs at one of the buildings.

This weekend, we went to the Jonquil Festival at Old Washington. This was actually our first outing as an entire family and we had a ball! Brittany took a friend with her and Roy said we looked like the Brady Bunch walking in. HA! Rylee Grace slept thru the entire thing. I wanted to get pictures of all three kids in the jonquils, but Rylee had other things on her mind! We also had intentions of going from the Jonquil Festival to Colin's baseball game, but they moved his game up and we missed it. Hopefully we'll be able to catch another one some other day! After we left the Jonquil Festival, we ate lunch in Hope and went to WalMart. The kids had their picture taken with the Easter Bunny! Rylee spit up on the poor Easter Bunny and I think it was running down the arm! UGH! The price you pay.......I'll have to post their picture when I get a chance to get to Hope to pick it up. It was pretty cute and definately comical!
