Rylee Grace turned 6 months old this past Sunday and bless her heart, she spent the whole weekend with a nasty cold and low-grade fever. I took off Friday to take her to the dr and he concluded she had a "nasty cold". We had 6 month shots scheduled for Monday at 9:00 and her doctor said she would be fine to have her shots as scheduled. We showed up Monday, she had her shots and screamed and cried and hurt her mamma's feelings real bad. :( We were at home that afternoon and when I woke her up after her nap around 4:00, she was burning up. I took her temp and it was over 103 degrees - she just laid there and would "play" like she normally does and could barely keep her eyes open. Scared to death, I called the pediatrician's office, was on hold for 20 minutes just to be told that everyone had left for the day. Sooooooo - I dashed off to Howard Memorial Hospital! It was our first trip to the ER and her young little life and I'm here to tell ya - I counted my blessings that I normally have a healthy baby. If I had to go thru drawing blood, x-rays, etc, on a daily basis with such a sweet innocent baby, it would hurt my heart! Luckily - her fever came down and we went home - unsure of what was causing her fever to go up, other than a possible virus of some kind or reaction to her shots.
After I realized everything was fine, I realized how I was dressed - in Roy's gray athletic shorts that hang down to my knees, a wife-beater and my flip flops. Roy said I looked like something straight out of Mineral Springs! LOL (Only Roy) I promised the lady in the x-ray room that we were not white trash - I was just happy in the comfort of my own home cleaning house when I had to make a mad dash to the ER. I guess from now on, I'll clean house in my Sunday finest! No - I won't!
PS - Thanks to John and Marcia for coming and sitting with us during that scary scary time! BecBec and Nan were in Arkadelphia at Colin's baseball game and couldn't be there so John and Marcia sat in for them. It was a relief to see somebody there!
........And Zach says he hit TWO homeruns! We missed his game and we're so sorry - maybe he'll show out again at another game!
